قبل أن تكون بيضاء، كانت الوردة حمراء. Impériale Oud هي تلك الوردة في أصلها، في أسفل الشجرة، ممتلئةً، متمهّلةً، ومن صميم الأرض. تتفتّح الوردة التركية فوق السوسن المخمليّ والبنفسج، بينما يجري تحتها Oud Assafi الأصيل، من أنفَس أنواع العود في العالم، راسماً ظلاً راتنجياً عميقاً أسفل الزهرة لتبدو الوردة فاخرةً لا مجرّد جميلة. ويمتدّ بها الباتشولي عميقاً في المساء. هنا حيث تتجذّر الذات: راسخةً، حكيمةً، ذات هيبة هادئة. الوردة التي تتذكّرها الوردة المتسلّقة.
