Ici s'achèvent les flacons blancs et commencent les noirs. Chérie Oud est le tronc de l'arbre, le passage vivant entre la fleur et la racine, et il fait la descente tout en douceur. La bergamote et la lavande élèvent un cœur de vanille et de fève tonka — cette chaleur ronde, presque gourmande, de la coumarine et du benjoin — sur un oud ambré et doux, boisé et discret plutôt que fumé. Le patchouli, le bois de gaïac et l'amyris gardent la douceur honnête : jamais elle ne bascule dans le dessert. Le tronc est là où tout se relie. Ce que les racines recueillent, il le porte vers la floraison. Une douceur tenue dans la chaleur du bois. Une invitation vers les profondeurs, non une exigence.

Inspired by Warmth
Warmth is what carries.
A warm person holds the door. In the tree, that is the trunk: everything the roots gather in the dark travels through it, upward, into bloom. Here the white boxes end and the black begin. Vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin, the warmest materials I know, are the heart; the first oud of the house arrives soft and ambery, woody rather than smoky; patchouli and guaiac wood keep the sweetness honest. If oud has ever felt like too much, this is the door I left open for you.
