Hi Ellen, Thank you sincerely for taking the time to experience Musk de Lumière and for giving our new fragrance house a chance. I personally developed each composition with careful attention to concentration, diffusion, texture, sillage, and the evolution of the fragrance from its opening notes through the final drydown, using fine raw materials and thoughtfully selected naturals to create depth and dimension.

Fragrance is an entirely personal experience, and its intensity can be perceived differently depending on individual sensitivity, skin chemistry, application, and environment. We completely respect that our olfactory style may not align with every preference, and we truly appreciate your honest feedback and the opportunity to have shared our work with you.

Thank you so much for choosing Neroli de Nuit and for describing it with such sensitivity. As the perfumer, I was especially touched that you noticed the neroli remaining luminous and airy for hours before dissolving into an intimate veil on the skin. That is precisely the olfactive movement I intended.

I selected Tunisian neroli for its distinctive profile. Beneath its radiant white floral character, it reveals a refined green bitterness, an aromatic freshness, and a subtle lavender nuance. These facets give the composition clarity and lift, allowing it to remain floral and expansive without slipping into a familiar cologne register. The terroir, the spring harvest, the condition of the blossoms, and the method of distillation all shape the finished essence. The material I chose possessed the exact balance of brilliance, texture, and refinement that the formula required.

The lemon was chosen with the same precision. I used an Italian sfumatrice lemon from Condofuri in Reggio Calabria for its vivid expression of the peel. It is zesty, green, and incisive, with the sensation of opening a fresh lemon and releasing its aromatic oils. I was not looking for a generic citrus brightness. I wanted a textured luminosity that would make the neroli feel succulent without becoming sweet or overly sharp.

The Somali myrrh is quiet within the composition, but essential to its architecture. This true Commiphora myrrha brings a dry, balsamic, and earthy warmth, with subtle leathery and licorice nuances. It casts a gentle shadow beneath the white florals and gives the drydown greater depth, allowing the fragrance to settle into the skin with softness rather than simply fading away.

Provenance is fundamental to the way I compose for our house. I evaluate different origins, botanical varieties, harvests, and extraction methods until I find the material whose character serves the formula with precision. Neroli is never simply neroli, and lemon is never simply lemon. Each natural possesses its own accent, texture, and emotional register.

Your suggestion of a body lotion is a beautiful one, and we are equally delighted that Neroli de Nuit was not the only fragrance from the set that spoke to you. That truly is the happiest kind of problem.

Thank you. That was the intention from the start. I never built these around who should wear them, only around the materials themselves, so nothing in the collection is drawn along a line between women and men.

What I cannot control, and would not want to, is skin. The same bottle reads differently on every person who wears it. So the fragrance stays unisex on the shelf and becomes entirely yours the moment it is on.

You picked up on something real. Hayal and Néroli de Nuit share a spine: Calabrian bergamot at the opening, Italian lemon behind it, and an ambergris warmth holding the base. They also carry the same natural black tea and the same neroli. What changes is the dose.

In Hayal the tea is a trace, just enough to dry the citrus so it never turns sweet. In Néroli de Nuit I raised it many times over until the tannin became the structure itself, then built the flower out with orange blossom and petitgrain so the neroli opens rather than whispers. Same materials, different weight, and the fragrance turns.

That is L'Arbre de Vie. Every chapter shares sap with the one beside it. Hayal is the crown in daylight. Néroli de Nuit is the same branch after dark.
